What to Look for in a Wright Brothers Alternative
Do You Want Fresh or Frozen Seafood?
This is the biggest difference between these four. Wright Brothers vacuum packs its fresh fish and says most fresh seafood is fine to freeze on the day it arrives, according to its FAQs. The Fish Society takes the other route: it freezes fish soon after landing and says this lets it offer a wider range. Rockfish sells both, and Pesky Fish prepares fresh fish to order.
How Big Will Your Order Be?
Order size decides what you pay for delivery. Wright Brothers has a GBP 55 minimum but no delivery fee once you reach it. Rockfish asks for GBP 30 on fish orders, then charges GBP 6.50 under GBP 49.99, GBP 3.50 from GBP 50 and nothing from GBP 85. The Fish Society charges GBP 6.50 until your order passes GBP 70.
Do They Deliver to Your Postcode?
All four use DPD for most deliveries, and none covers every UK postcode. Wright Brothers does not deliver to the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight, the Scottish Highlands and Islands or Northern Ireland. Rockfish excludes the Scottish Highlands and Islands by DPD, and Pesky Fish ships to mainland UK only. The Fish Society has suspended Northern Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, and uses Royal Mail Special Delivery for some remote areas.
