Every store here needs your prescription. [Vision Direct’s buying guide](https://www.visiondirect.com.au/optical-centre/contact-lenses/how-to-buy-contact-lenses-online/) says all contact lenses need a valid contact lens prescription from a qualified eye care practitioner, and that a contact lens prescription lasts one or two years. If yours has expired, Bailey Nelson, Dresden Vision and Oscar Wylee offer eye tests in their stores. **Eye health note:** contact lenses are medical devices. Only order the brand, lens type and power your eye care practitioner prescribed, keep up with regular eye exams, and see a practitioner if your eyes become red, painful or blurry. ### How Much Time Do You Want to Return an Order? Return windows differ a lot. [Vision Direct](https://www.visiondirect.com.au/returns) lists 100 days for eyewear and sealed contact lens boxes. [Dresden Vision](https://dresden.vision/au/our-glasses/shipping-and-returns) allows 30 days for glasses and sealed lenses. [Bailey Nelson](https://www.baileynelson.com.au/pages/return-policy) treats custom prescription products as final sale, and [Oscar Wylee](https://www.oscarwylee.com.au/legal/oscar-wylee-warranty.html) takes change-of-mind returns only on non-prescription sunglasses. ## Feature Comparison | Feature | Vision Direct | Bailey Nelson | Dresden Vision | Oscar Wylee | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Contact lenses | Yes, many brands | Yes, own brand and others | Yes, many brands | Not shown on pages we read | | Glasses and sunglasses | Yes, designer frames | Yes | Yes | Yes | | Stores and eye tests | Online only | Stores, eye test booking | Stores, bulk billed eye tests | Stores, bulk billed eye tests | | Free shipping | Over AUD 99 | Contacts over AUD 70; glasses over AUD 99 | AUD 125 or more | Australian orders | | Returns | 100 days | 30 days, non-prescription items | 30 days | 30 days, non-prescription sunglasses | | Warranty | 3 months contacts; 2 years prescription eyewear | 1 year glasses and sunglasses | 10-year frame warranty | 1 year frames and lenses | | Health funds | Rebate guides for five funds | Health funds page | All major funds accepted | All major funds accepted in store | From each brand’s own pages, October 28, 2026. ## Price Comparison: What Do Lenses and Glasses Cost?
