## What to Look for in an Eastpak Alternative

### How Long Should a Backpack Warranty Last?

Warranty terms vary a lot in this group. Eastpak advertises an up to 30-year limited warranty, and JanSport covers manufacturing defects for the lifetime of the product. Kipling’s limited warranty lasts one year from purchase. None of these cover normal wear and tear, so read what counts as a defect before you claim.

### Do You Need a Laptop Sleeve?

If you carry a laptop every day, look for a sleeve in the product description. Eastpak’s Day Pak’r, Day Office and Out of Office all list a laptop sleeve, and the Day Pak’r Pro has an external 16-inch sleeve. Kipling’s Seoul Small Tablet Backpack is sized for a tablet, so check the product page if you need room for a full laptop.

### What Is the Free Shipping Threshold?

Shipping can change the final price of a single backpack. Eastpak’s US store delivers free on all U.S. orders, while JanSport needs an order of $50 or more, Herschel Supply over $75 and Kipling $99 or more. If you buy one bag under those amounts, Eastpak is the simplest choice.

### Which Brands Help You Save on a First Order?

Eastpak gives 15% off a first order of full-price items when you join its community, and Kipling gives members 15% off a first purchase. JanSport has a Pack Points rewards program. For Eastpak, our [Eastpak coupon page](https://couponsscout.com/store/eastpak/) also lists current codes and offers.
